Obituary

Clarence Allen Parker Jr., age 61, of Cobb, died at Phoebe Worth Medical Center on Saturday, September 6, 2014. A native of Americus, he was born August 27, 1953, the son of the late Clarence and Jaqueline Parker, Sr. Clarence was a retired lineman with Georgia Power, veteran of the National Guard, and also a member of First Baptist Church of Americus. He was an avid outdoorsman as well as an expert marksman and precision shooter. Clarence also loved flying airplanes. Graveside services will be held, Monday, September 8, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Corporate Angel Network, Westchester County Airport, One Loop Road, White Plains, NY 10604 or to the Sumter Humane Society, 108 Industrial Blvd., Americus, Ga. 31719. Survivors include wife Fran Parker of Cobb, two sons and daughter-in-law, Dan Parker, and Travis and Mitzi Parker all of Americus; sisters and brothers-in-law Susan and Marshall Welch of Americus, and Patti and Ricky Johnson of Fairhope, AL; brother Mack Parker of Fairhope, AL; grandchildren Lilly Bacon, Eli Bacon and Cooper Parker; and also nieces and nephews, Reggie Folsom, Lynsey Williams, Ivey Johnson, Dakota Johnson, and Jordan Parker.
