Christopher Evans Hale, 52, of Americus died Sunday, September 9, 2018. A native of Sumter County, he was born July 14, 1966 to the late Robert Austin Hale, Jr. and Gail Watts Hale. He loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed playing golf. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Survivors include his brother, Bobby Hale of Americus; nephew, Austin Hale of Americus; aunts and uncles, June Shumake of Americus, and Butch and Elaine Watts of Leesburg; and cousins, Pat Shumake of Atlanta, Kelli Watts Hooper of Asheville, NC, and Kristi Watts Gage of Atlanta. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
