Christi Lynn Murphy, age 53, of Americus, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. She was born in Frankfort, Germany on February 20, 1968 to Mark and Helen Murphy. Christi received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Valdosta State University in 1990, but fate led her to a career in medical research. She became a Certified Clinical Research Professional in 2009 and specialized in cancer research. Her desire to heal others led to the pursuit of a Master's of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She became a licensed Acupuncturist in 2016. Chris loved to travel and spend time outside appreciating nature. She loved music, the beach, a good sunset, growing flowers, and spending time on the water. She grew up at Lake Blackshear and in June of this year, moved back home to Georgia to put down roots and be closer to family. All services will be private. Survivors include her parents, Mark and Helen Murphy of Cordele; and a sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer & Clayton Johnson of Americus.
