Mr. Charlie Mack Brown, age 60, of 122 2nd Road, Leesburg, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Mr. Brown was a native of Colquitt County, born October 29, 1948, a son of the late Henry Lewis Brown, Jr. and Ernestine Lowery Scarbrough who survives him. He was a veteran of the U.S.Army having received the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14), 1ST Class Gunner (M-60 MG) and Sharpshooter (Rifle M-16). He was a Baptist by faith. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 7, 2008 at Andersonville National Cemetery with Rev. Lance Fendley officiating. The family asked that, IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial contributions be made to Billy Rose, P. O. Box 194, Smithville, Ga. 31787 to assist with payment of the funeral expenses. Survivors other than his mother, Ernestine Scarbrough of Americus are one daughter, Shea Brown of Leesburg; one son, Billy Rose of Smithville; four sisters, Kim Miller of Dawson, Donna Law of Leslie, Vickie Loyless of Bronwood and Carol Reno of Leesburg and two brothers, Allen Brown of Marietta and Larry Brown of Leesburg. Six grandchildren also survive. Memorials: Billy Rose, P. O. Box 194, Smithville, Ga. 31787 to assist with payment of the funeral expenses.
