Charles Crisp Glover, Jr., age 83, of 1790 Tom Odum Rd., Vidalia, died at St. Joseph Candler Hospital, Savannah, Thursday, March 6, 2014. A native of Americus, he was born March 7, 1930, the son of the late Charles Crisp and Cordelia Hooks Glover, Sr. He was a furniture sales representative for Hinkle Chair Company for 62 years and a U. S. Navy veteran. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, a tremendous bass fisherman, bird hunter and grew wonderful roses. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Womack officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 9, 2014, from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to The Griffin House Alzheimer's Unit, 107 West Liberty Street, Claxton, Georgia 30417. Pallbearers include grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Honorary pallbearers include Bill Turpin, John Bridges, and Bill Sloan. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sadie Bridges Glover of Vidalia; a daughter and son-in-law, Fran and James Powers of McKinney, Texas; a step-daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Steve Tipps of Vidalia; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Bunny Glover of Valdosta; a step-son, Bill Sloan of Cedar Town; ten grandchildren, Wes Glover, Chance Glover, Mollie Glover, Jamie Salem, James Powers, III, Alyson Kelly, Jacki Duke, Chase Tipps, Lindsay Smith, and Brandi Jones; and fourteen great grandchildren.
