Brenda Elaine Stephenson, 58, of 419 Smallpiece Road, Plains died Monday, December 14, 2015 at her residence. A native of Brownsville, Texas she was the daughter of the late Ferrell and Mandy Mooney. Mrs. Stephenson was a waitress at the Huddle House in Dawson. She attended the Americus Seventh Day Adventist Church and was an avid reader. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 5:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Pastor Steve Shaw officiating. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, David Stephenson of Plains; two daughters and sons-in-law, Christie and John McConnell of Americus and Mandy and Billy Hobbs of Plains; two sisters, Wanda Dover of Cartersville and Lorretta Mooney of Indiana; four brothers, Jeff Mooney, Greg Gravley, Tracy Gravley and Steven Mooney all of Cartersville and five grandchildren, Brittanee McConnell, Katelyn McConnell, Sarah McConnell, Johnathan Hobbs and Jacob Hobbs. She was preceded in death by a son, Clayton Bennett; a sister, Suzie Gravley and a brother, Larry Mooney.
