Boyce Tucker Rush, III, age 48, of Americus, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. He was known as "Tuck" to many. He was born December 1, 1968 at Sumter County Hospital to Mary Laing Rush and Tucker Rush, Jr. He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Sheryl Purvis Rush; a son, Robert Tucker "Rob" Rush; a daughter, Mary Nell Rush; and his parents, Tucker and Mary Laing Rush, all of Americus. Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Julie Rush Schramm (David) of Lawrenceville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Teresa and Keith Teasley of Americus; and his mother-in-law, Nell Welch Purvis of Americus. In addition, he had several nieces and nephews that he adored; and a host of cousins, aunts, and uncles. Tuck graduated from Americus High School in 1987. In high school, he was the starting center of the AHS football team in 1985 and 1986. He loved his coaches and teammates. He graduated from Georgia Southwestern College in 1991 with a business degree. While in college, he was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. During this time he made many life-long brothers. In 1997, he went on to pass his CPA exam and at that time became a partner with the firm of Rush and Rush CPAs. Tuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, Alabama Crimson Tide football, and flying with Rick Urash, his flight instructor. The family will receive friends at 410 Pecan Drive. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Americus. Dr. Marcus Tripp and Rev. Lloyd Thomas will officiate the service.
