Ms. Billie Sue DeVane Thomas passed away Monday, July 27, 2020 in Americus, Georgia. A native of Americus, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Louie and Judy Bradley Bass DeVane. She had resided in Sumter County all her life except for 12 years in which she lived in Lexington, Georgia. Ms. Thomas had managed the Chevron Food Mart on North Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. in Americus for many years. She was also employed at various other retail establishments. Ms. Thomas' family was the center of her life. She is survived by one son, Christopher Bradley Thomas, and his wife, Kerrie Lynn Thomas; grandson, Johnathon Bradley Thomas, granddaughter, Camryn Hernandez, and great-granddaughter, Lyla Hernandez of Americus. She is also survived by brothers, Russell Bass of Lebanon, Virginia; Tommy (Susan) DeVane of Oglethorpe, Georgia; sisters, Earlene (Logan) Felts of Leslie, Georgia; and Karen DeVane Bell of Fromberg, Montana. Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Tonya Kobs Byrd, Tommy Kobs, Stephanie Croom, Cindy Preskitt, Allen Bass, Bobby Bass, Diane Bass, Jim Bass, Angie Singletary, Terry Lovell, Penny Pace, Jim Black, Steve Felts, Randy Felts, Mark Felts, Marilyn Bass, Rusty Bass, Jennifer Sontag, Kevin DeVane, Dan DeVane, Amanda Gleason, and Marci Kokkeler. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Silas Thomas on June 19, 2011; by siblings: Gilbert Bass, Jimmie Bass, and Anne Matthews of Americus, Georgia and Polly Buckner of Leslie, Georgia. Nephew Tony Felts also preceded her in death.
