Betty Ray Stanford Burger, age 86, of 1000-A Pineywoods Dr., died at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center Thursday, April 19, 2012. A native of Miami, FL, she was born August 2, 1925, the daughter of the late Ishmael Ray and Lora Frances Stanford. She was a retired retail sales representative having been employed with Avon in Charlotte, NC for 32 years. She was a member of Leslie Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wendy Peacock officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to League of the Good Samaritan, Magnolia Manor, 2001 S. Lee St., Americus, Ga. 31709. Survivors include two sisters, Myrtle S. Adkins of Americus and Loraine S. Jones of Cordele; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill Stanford of Leesburg and James Howard and Betty Stanford, Sr. of Leslie; and several nieces and nephews.
