Betty Grissom Jordan, 78, of Americus, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center. A native of Chattahoochee County, she was born September 26, 1939 to the late William Bartlett Grissom and Mildred Anna Kemp Grissom. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 1st at Rehoboth Baptist Church. Rev. James Beckett will officiate the service. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Survivors include a daughter, Chandra Dawn Jordan of Americus; and two granddaughters: Jordan Alyssa Spires and Chelsea Faye Spires. Also surviving are two nieces: Christi Nwadeyi and Candi Baker-Jewell; two great-nephews: Harold Nwadeyi and Shawn Jewell; and a great-niece: Annie Mae Jewell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Wade Jordan; and two sisters: Christie Faye Grissom and Mildred Elaine Grissom Baker. Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
