Betty Montgomery Dragon, 76, of Americus, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, January 26, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

The memorial service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Marty Dillon officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 AM.

A native of Norman Park, Mrs. Dragon was born to the late Pat and Genevieve Montgomery. She retired from SB&T in 2004 where she worked in customer service. Mrs. Dragon was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she was known for giving the children candy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Leroy Montgomery, Hazel Gooden, Robert Montgomery, David Montgomery, and Charlie Montgomery.

Mrs. Dragon is survived by her husband of 60+ years, Harry Dragon; a daughter, Deona Dragon Spencer and her husband Reuben Law Spencer, IV; a sister, Debra Montgomery Taylor and her husband Jackie; a grandson, Troy Burton Pudder; two great-grandchildren, Betty-Rose and Wyatt Pudder; and several nieces and nephews.
