Mrs. Betty Virginia Hogsed Dorminy, age 85, of Cobb, died Saturday, July 11, 2020. A native of Sumter County, Mrs. Dorminy was born August 13, 1934, the daughter of Troy and Nettie Hunt. Mrs. Dorminy was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She was always known to help others and lend a helping hand when needed. She worked many years at Larry Hogsed Upholstery with her son. She was an avid gardener and found it peaceful to be working in her yard. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian Bentley officiating. Survivors include three sons, Alan Hogsed and wife Angie of Newnan, Larry Hogsed of Cobb, and Dan Hogsed and wife Jackie of Cobb; two sisters, Iva Jean Dowdy of Dublin and Janice Wooley of Albany; seven grandchildren, Mick Hogsed, Maggie Hogsed, Paige Hogsed, Tammi Joe Childs, Tanzy Brown, Chris Hogssed, and Halie Mullarkey; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, C.F. "Judge" Hogsed and Robert Dorminy. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Lakeview Baptist Church, 472 Flintside Drive Cobb, GA. 31735.
