Mrs. Betty J. Booth, age 74, died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at her residence. A native of Worth County, Mrs. Booth was born May 22, 1934, daughter of the late John D. Jones and Mattie Stone Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Booth, Sr. and a brother Woodrow Jones. Mrs. Booth was retired from the City of Americus after thirty-five years of service. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of Cheek Memorial Baptist Church. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Bro. Shane Busby officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Survivors include one son, Eddie Booth and one brother, Marvin Jones both of Americus; two grandchildren, J. R. Booth of Dawson and LeighAnne Busby and husband Nick of Harlem and five great-grandchildren, Gabe, Taylor, MacKenzie, Olivia and Addysen Busby of Harlem.
