Mrs. Anna Jean Johnson, age 86, of Americus, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at Lillian Carter Nursing Home in Plains, GA. Mrs. Johnson was born October 16, 1935 to the late Johnnie and Mary Odom. Funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Americus Sunday, February 27, 2022, at 2:30pm with Rev. Steve Golden and Rev. Chet Ragsdale officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Pallbearers will include Brandon Miller, Tim Mathews, Daniel Wadkins, Aaron Powell, Phillip Fry, and Chet Rasgdale. Nathan Fowler will be the alternate. Survivors include her son Richard Powell (Joanna) of Ellaville; three daughters, Deanna Latham (Loney) of Montezuma; Teresa Miller (Jake) of Plains; and Cheryl Wadkins (James) of Americus; one sister Brenda J. Odom of Garland, TX; also surviving are nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
