Alice Ruth Jones, age 96, of Preston, died on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Lillian Carter Health and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Jones was born March 2, 1923 in Webster County Georgia, the daughter of the late Henry and Pearl Sapp. Mrs. Jones was a retired insurance agent with Farm Bureau, a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev Robert Orr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Jerry Jones JR, 2954 Macedonia Church Road, Preston GA on Monday evening between the hours of five and eight. Survivors include her husband J. E. Jones Sr, of Preston, Three daughters, Ann Wills, of Talbotton GA , Donna Jones, of Preston GA, and Dina Jones, of Phenix City AL. Also surviving is one son Jerry Jones Jr, of Preston GA, one sister, Florence Law, of Warner Robbins, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and five great great-grandchildren. The family request memorial contributions be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 5716 Macedonia Church Road, Preston, GA 31824.
