Obituary

Mr. Alex Thornton "A.T." Sears, age 79, of Butler, formally of Americus, died on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Navicent Health Care in Macon. Mr. Sears was a native of Harris County GA, born July 21, 1942, the son of the late Douglas and Helen Sears. Mr. Sears was a serial entrepreneur who was involved in many endeavors. He was a deacon in his church, former President of the Webster County Cattlemen's Association, volunteered with the 4-H, and former member of the Jaycees. He was also a member of Central Baptist Church in Americus. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 10:00 Am, at Enterprise Baptist Church Cemetery in Webster County, with Rev. Robert Orr officiating. Mr. Sears is survived by one daughter Rebecca and Chris Cox, of Marietta, GA, one son Rusty and De Sears, of Ellaville; one sister, Dale and Jim Murray, of Lumpkin, two brothers, Billy and Lady Sears, of Navasota, TX and Roy and Lisa Sears, of Ashburn, GA. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Cambelle and Carter Sears, of Ellaville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Enterprise Baptist Church, Richland, GA 31825
