Dr. Albert Bartow Ray, Jr., age 66, of 301 E. Glessner St., died at his residence Saturday, July 21, 2012. Dr. Ray was a pilot and taught race driving and instruction for a Porsche club; loved helping others; enjoyed researching his genealogy; was an avid hunter and loved music and playing the guitar. He was a former professor of psychology at Georgia State University before going into private practice and he was a loving father. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Helena Cemetery in Helena, GA. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Perry Wellness Center, 302 E. Furlow St., Americus, GA 31709 Survivors include a son, Albert Bartow Ray, III; two sisters, Martha Ray Dean of Philadelphia, Penn. and Bonnie Ray Sherrill of Horseshoe, NC; and a nephew, Mathew Howard of Ashville, NC.
