Abbie Lou Coker Stephenson, 76, of Plains, died Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Navicent Health in Macon. A native of Sumter County, she was born April 20, 1943 to the late Curtis Cecil Coker and Vera Marlow Green Coker. She was a member of Plains Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30th at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus with Rev. Buck Kinney officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 29th at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel. Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Ray Ethridge of Leslie, and Karen and Don Brown of Americus; a son, Brian Stephenson of Plains; two sisters: Clara Abrams of Little Mountain, SC, and Carolyn Wellons of Byromville; and a brother, Everett Coker of Albany. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Korben Ethridge, Ethan Ethridge, Caitlin Hinton, and Christian Elswick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Houston Stephenson. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
