Obituary for Remelle G. Wilbanks

Mrs. Remelle G. Wilbanks, age 71, of 207 Willet Way, Americus, GA died on Thursday evening March 11, 2010, at Pine Hill Nursing Center in Byromville. Mrs. Wilbanks, was born July 18, 1938, in Colquitt, County, GA the daughter of the late Woodrow F. and Mary Lou Galloway. Mrs. Wilbanks, a resident of Sumter County for 51 years, was a member of Central Baptist Church, Xi Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she held various offices and chairmanships. She also was a member of Sumter Players and several bridge clubs. Mrs. Wilbanks loved to travel and to read from her extensive library of books especially books about travel. Mrs. Wilbanks was retired from Reeves Contruction as an executive secretary for 29 years.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 14, 2010, at 4:00 PM, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tommy McConnell officiating. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, William R. (Buddy) Willbanks of Americus, a daughter, Harriett Williams of Americus, three sisters and a brother-in-law, Marcine Crozier of Pinehurst, Phyllis Thompson of Americus, Patti and Don Britt of Sylvester, one aunt, Opal and Charles Rich of Albany and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wilbanks was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Pamela G. Williams.

Memorials:
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.

Visitation:
The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Sunday at Greg Hncock Funeral Chapel and at other times at the residence of Harriett Williams, 205 Willet Way, Americus.

Service:
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 14, 2010, at 4:00 PM, at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tommy McConnell officiating.
