Obituary for Martha Deloach Kerr

Martha Deloach Kerr of Albany, Ga., died Saturday September 12, 2009, at Magnolia Manor Nursing Center in Americus, Ga. The funeral will be Tuesday, September 15, 2009; at 1:00 PM at New Bethel Baptist Church in Valdosta, Ga. with burial at 3:00 PM at Riverview Memorial Gardens. There will be a visitation for Martha Kerr at the home of her daughter, 204 Tivoli Park Rd., Centerville, Ga., Monday, September 14, 2009 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.

Martha Kerr was born in Hahira, Ga., February 23, 1928, but has made her home in Albany, Ga. since her husband, the late Captain (Ret.) Howard Kerr retired from the United States Air Force. She was a retired hairdresser and was very active with her church, Raleigh White Baptist Church in Albany, Ga.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, E. Michael and Connie Kerr of Canton, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mardi and Clyde Turner of Centerville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Michael and Gina Turner of Jacksonville, Fl., Bryan Kerr of Smyrna, Amanda and Jamie Wade of Anniston, Al. and Christopher and Theresa Turner of Jacksonville, Fl.; four great grandchildren, Jessica Turner of Locust Grove, Abigail Turner, Ian Turner and Hannah Turner of Jacksonville, Fl. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Katie Ruis of Valdosta, Ga. and Ms. Maderia Thom of San Antonio, Tx; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimers Association, 1512-1 Gillionville Rd, Albany, Ga. 31707 or American Cancer Society, c/o Ann Harris, 1801 Rose Avenue, Americus, Ga. 31709.
