He is survived by his parents, Charlene and Lee Hall, of Lake Blackshear and Gary and Georgia Vinson of Montezuma; his sister, Sylvia Vinson Davis, her husband "Chip", their sons, Thomas R. "Ivey" Davis, IV and Railey Vinson Davis of Hopeful; his brother, Richard Hall, his wife Lea, their sons, James Roy Hall and Clay Davis Hall of Vienna; his brother, Scott McPherson, his wife Patty, their daughters, Monica and Madison, their son, Blake, of Bishop; and his sister Dixie Brown, her husband Donnie, their son Brooks and daughters, Amy Brown, Kristen Cleghorn, all of Gray and Meghan Harrison of Griffin. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles Bartow Railey and Renna McCoy Railey of Sumter and paternal grandparents, Estelle Merritt Vinson and Gary Vinson, II of Montezuma.

Charles was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church at Lake Blackshear. He was an employee with Citizens Telephone Company in Leslie. He was a First Lieutenant with the Albany Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, a volunteer firefighter with the Lake Blackshear and Leslie Volunteer Fire Departments and trained in several firefighting skills including crash victim extrication and pressurized container fire control. He was an Honorary State Trooper with the Georgia State Patrol and an Auxiliary Sheriff's Deputy with the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Charles was an avid collector of many things, including patches, badges, guns, knives, NASCAR memorabilia, and anything related to firefighters or any other uniformed officer. Anyone that knew him, however, knew that his most prized collection was his family and his many, many friends.
