Obituary for Buck Hannon Harris, Jr.

Mr. Buck Hannon Harris, Jr., age 74, of 29 Morris St., Ellaville, Ga., died Monday afternoon, November 2, 2009 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. A native of Sumter Co., Mr. Harris was born September 18, 1935, the son of Buck Hannon and Ruth Johnson Harris, Sr. Mr. Harris was retired from Greenfield Metal Products.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 5, 2009, at Leslie City Cemetery with Rev. Peter Vermuelen officiating. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday, November 4, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM at Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Harris is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Shelia and Michael Wright of Cordele, a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lillian and Billy Clark of Americus, nieces and nephews, Debra and Charlie Sykes and Gail and Danny Enloe of Americus, one grandchild, Samantha Claire Wright of Cordele, great nieces and nephews, Becky and Kenny Raybon and Jenny Satterfield and a longtime friend, Pearl Rogers of Ellaville. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hopewell Methodist Church, PO Box 22, Ellaville, Ga. 31806 or a charity of your choice.
